Rocky Mount -

Early Friday morning, June 9, 2023, our beloved husband, daddy, son, pa, brother, and dear friend completed his time here on earth and was called home to his Savior. Joseph Timothy Taylor, fondly known as "Tim", passed away peacefully at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina with his loving family by his side.

Tim's life began February 25, 1968 in Edgecombe County as a son born to Joe and Judy Taylor. He grew to be a strong family man, devoted to the care and well being of those he loved. For Tim, life was a wonderful journey of ups and downs, love and laughter, friends and family, and  faith and courage. He adored his family and friends and especially enjoyed spending time beachcombing, fishing and race car driving. His strength was a tremendous source of inspiration to others and his sacrifices and commitments to family were immeasurable. His life greatly impacted so many others and he will be deeply missed.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Joe Taylor. He leaves a lifetime of treasured memories for his wife, Paula H. Taylor; mother, Judy H. Vastine and husband, Sam of Elm City; daughters, Lauren Nichols and husband, Tyler of Winterville, and Katherine Taylor of Pinetops; sister, Lynn Eason and husband, Phillip of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Braxton Everett of the home, and Corbin Nichols of Winterville; mother-in-law, Jean H. Harrell; along with many family friends and other extended relatives.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 pm, Monday, June 12, 2023, at Oakdale Baptist Church, 13037 US-64 ALT, Rocky Mount, NC 27801. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 6:00 pm, and other times at the home.
