IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tina
Proctor
April 15, 1955 – October 3, 2025
Rocky Mount -
Tina Proctor, age 70, passed away Friday morning, October 3, 2025 at her home in Rocky Mount, NC.
She was born April 15, 1955 in Edgecombe County to Robert J. and Nellie V. Pullen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robbie Pullen.
She is survived by her loving family that includes her devoted husband of forty-two years, James Proctor; their beloved four-legged companions, Holly and Cody; and their frisky kitties, Socks and Meat Head.
Tina will also be deeply missed by her sister, Alice Pullen Wiggins and husband, Danny of Coalfield, TN; brother, Scott Pullen of Rocky Mount; brother-in-law, Bill Proctor, also of Rocky Mount; special niece and nephews, Amy Asbury and husband, David, Greg Wiggins and wife, Tracy, and Brent Wiggins; along with dear friends and neighbors, Jose Lopez, Sabrina and Craig Wallace, Katherine Lopez, Diana Lopez, and Berry and Kim Lewis.
During Tina's early years, she was a horse showman who brought home more than 175 trophies throughout the span of her career. Her accolades garnered the attention of local municipalities who invited her to ride in their parades and most notably, she and her Saddlebred led the 1967 Rocky Mount Centennial Parade. Once Tina finished High School and started at East Carolina University for her bachelor's degree, her showman days came to an end. Though she stepped out of the arena, her love for horses never wavered- she spent a lot of time with her own pet horses and loved to travel to famous horse arenas and immerse herself in the history of the sport.
Upon completion of her bachelor's degree, Tina worked for a time at her father's and later, her brother-in-law's heating and air businesses. She then dedicated her life to the Wilson County Public School System where she worked until retirement as a supply manager, ensuring each school in the county received proper supplies. This work opened her eyes to children's misfortune where she made sure that each year at Christmas, those children who were unfortunate received gifts as to not go without. This realization prompted Tina to participate in an annual toy drive where she, her husband, James, and the neighborhood girls would wrap numerous gifts, oftentimes overfilling the back of the pickup truck, to deliver to churches and other organizations in her area.
Tina will be remembered most for her generous spirit and her willingness to offer support to those in need, especially to children and animals. Her ability to connect with others showcased her profound understanding of love and empathy, leaving a legacy of compassion and hope to the many lives she touched.
The family will receive friends during a special time of remembrance from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 9th, 2025, at Davis-Little Funerals, 2129 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
