Wendy Wright-Andrews, affectionately known as "Bird", finished her race on earth and claimed her victory in Heaven on Monday, April 6, 2026 at the age of 60. She was born in Edgecombe County on September 13, 1965 to Williford and Gladys Lane Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne Wright and Wendell Wright.

She leaves treasured memories for her children, Eboni Harris and Janai Battle, both of Hinesville, GA; husband, Ulysses Wayne Andrews; siblings, Williford Wright Jr (Melcenia) of Arizona, Wallace Dupree Wright of Alex, VA, Wayne Wright, Wilhemina Lewis (Wayne) of Virginia Beach, VA, Winchell Wright and Warren Wright, both of Washington DC; along with many cherished friends. Wendy will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, Christopher, Melcenia, Breanna, Carisiane, Britney, Bethany, Byron, Jiabrian, Joshua and Jordan.

Wendy was especially proud of and adored her grandchildren, Tariq Battle, Niajha Gregory, Zonnell Gregory, Kareem Luseni, Destinee Luseni, Cornelius Gregory Jr, Aadyn Battle and Milo Battle.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Davis-Little Funerals, 2129 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
