Wesley Keith Smith, age 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on July 5, 2025.

Keith was born on July 25, 1947 in Rocky Mount to Wesley B. and Lorine Rose Smith, both of whom preceded him in death. A lifelong resident of Rocky Mount, he graduated from Benvenue High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force, including a tour of duty in the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, he enjoyed a successful career with and retired from Firestone in Wilson, North Carolina.

Keith had a lifelong love for classic rock music from the 1960s and '70s. Some of his fondest memories were attending concerts with family and friends, including unforgettable shows by the Doobie Brothers, Steve Miller Band, Eric Clapton, and Roger Waters. Whether he was spinning records or reminiscing about the music that shaped his life, Keith's passion for rock and roll was infectious and brought joy to those around him.

In his later years, he found great happiness and camaraderie bowling at the Rocky Mount Bowling Center, where he spent many fulfilling hours.

Keith cherished his family deeply. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Vicki Smith Pittman. He is survived by his nephews, Kevin Pittman and wife, Erica of Raleigh and Jason Pittman of Nashville; great-niece, Aubrey and great-nephew, Smith.

The family will host a celebration of Keith's life at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the Rocky Mount Bowling Center, 3250 N Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
