William "Bert" Best, age 77, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sandra Letchworth Best; step-daughter, Tammy B. Skinner and husband, Donnie Jr. of Pinetops; daughters, Shannon Best Turner and husband, H.R. and Tara Bissette and husband, Frankie and their children and grandchildren; grandchildren, John Reddick Skinner and Katie Holden and husband, Jordan, all of Pinetops; sister, Hilda Phillips; sister-in-law, Faye Best, along with a host of family friends and other extended relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 19, 2022 at South Edgecombe Rural Fire Department, 6697 Hwy 258 S., Pinetops, NC 27864. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 pm, also at the Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bert's honor may be made to Station 14, 6697 US 258S, Pinetops, NC 27864.
