Barbara Brown Harrell, age 71, passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by her family on Monday, January 3, 2022. She was born on December 11, 1950 in Edgecombe County to Paul and Annie Bell Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimmy" Harrell; brother, Alton Ray Brown; sister, Naomi Brown; nephew, Henry Brown; brother in law, Eddie Gene Harrell; and several other close family members and friends.
She is survived by a loving family that includes her daughter, Jaime Harrell Warren of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Gene Warren and Jordan Edwards of Fayetteville, Katelynne Warren and Chris Thresher of Greenville, Jaimalyn Breanna Warren of Florida, Grayson Paige Winslow of Rocky Mount, and several other grandchildren by heart; great-granddaughters, Mckinley and Charli Warren; sisters in law, June Brown of Maryland and Linda Harrell of Virginia; along with special nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Barbara grew up in Oak City, NC where she enjoyed the simple things that the farm life afforded. She was a woman of strong faith that lived her life by prayer. She was a prayer warrior that would pray for anyone she met, those she loved, or anyone that was on her heart. She had a giving heart that was exemplified through the 25 years she worked at the Baptist Retirement Home. She was extremely proud of her daughter and grandkids who were the apple of her eye and the light in her life and will be missed dearly.
A visitation to celebrate the life of Barbara will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM at Rise Church, 3520 Bishop Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
