Betty "Faye" Braswell, age 84, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, December 1, 2023 at Edgecombe Health and Rehabilitation in Tarboro, North Carolina. She was born in Johnston County on November 16, 1939, one of six children to parents, James Ransom and Ruth Hawley Hinton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Braswell, Jr.; brothers, Jay Hinton and Jesse Hinton; sisters, Kathleen Fuller and Joyce Rhodes and faithful canine companion, Harley.

She is survived by her sons, Ricky Braswell and wife, Louann and Gregory Braswell, all of Rocky Mount; sister, Barbara Nell Joyner of Pinetops; grandchildren, Jamie Braswell and Cameron Braswell and wife, Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Isabella "Shorty" Braswell, Lily Harris, Elliot Braswell and Henry Braswell; special friends, James Brown and Lois Avery; fur-baby, Lucy and many nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
