Brenda Rhodes, age 78, passed away peacefully Friday, February 20, 2026. She was born in Nash County to Jasper and Eleanor Rose Rhodes on July 9, 1947. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Rhodes and John Bowes (Shirley) and sister, Margie Snow.

She is survived by her children, Cara Thompson of Rocky Mount, Tara Thompson (Matt) of Maryland and Danny Thorpe (Sheila) of Roanoke Rapids; siblings, Penny Rhodes of Rocky Mount, Allen Rhodes (Earlene) of Bolivia, NC and Joe Rhodes of Beaufort; grandchildren, Caleb Thorpe (Holly), Paul Thorpe and Jacobi Thompson; great-grandson, Cameron Thorpe; sister-in-law, Sylvia Rhodes and special cousin, Grady Howell of Rocky Mount.

Brenda will also be missed by several nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
