Carl "Scott" Wood

Obituary

Nashville -

Carl Scott Wood, or as he preferred “Scott”, was a pillar to his community. Everyone saw him as a strong Christian man, often encouraging others to “Walk Worthy”. He was big on being social, as many of y’all have seen through his Facebook over the last decade. Our father, our husband, our family, and our friend wanted to make people laugh. Scott got more joy out of doing others good. He gave to his community his heart and his compassion. The church was a huge part of his life, as he served as a deacon for two of his churches. He was a public servant through his time as a volunteer firefighter and in his service through Baptist Men (now Baptist on a Mission). Scott loved his time working with Trail Life, being a role model for the children of the community. He often spoke of how much his late brother, Mike, had made an impact on his life in the Boy Scouts and wished he could do the same for others. Anyone who knew Scott knew he was an impactful person, as he “Walked Worthy” putting his actions behind his words. It’s certainly not hard to think of all the good memories he’s left us.  Many of y’all know how much he loved God’s creation. How often he ventured off to the mountains to appreciate the beauty around him. Scott loved showing others how amazing our world is. Many of his family and friends had the pleasure of going on hikes, camping, and even jeep rides. Of course he appreciated the small things too, like getting a donut at Krispy Kreme. He loved to fellowship over a cup of coffee. Sense of community was everything to him. Scott lived his life fully and will continue to make his impact through the lives he blessed with his time.
