Carolyn Daughtridge Godwin, age 74, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC. She was born in Rocky Mount on March 22, 1950 to Lester and Betty R. Daughtridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. "Butch" Godwin; sister, Marian Sallee; and brother, Marvin Daughtridge.

She leaves a loving family that includes her son, Pete Ricks (Angel) of Nashville; daughter, Kristy Wright of Battleboro; step-sons, Keith Godwin (Kathy) and Troy Godwin, all of Rocky Mount; brothers, Lester Daughtridge (Denise) of West Virginia, Richard Daughtridge (Robin), and Danny Daughtridge (Diane), all of Maryland. 

She was a beloved grandma to her nine grandchildren, Dustin Wells, Cody Ricks, Chelsea Wright, Summer Ricks, Josh Godwin, Christopher Godwin, D.J. Wright, Taylor Godwin, and Destiny Wright, who faithfully and graciously served as Carolyn's caregiver with great love and compassion. She will also be missed by two great-grandchildren, Jude and Ahlani, along with many nieces, nephews, family friends and other extended relatives.

Please join family and friends for a special time to celebrate Carolyn's life at 7:00 pm, Monday, July 22, 2024 at RiverBend Church, 9853 NC 97, Rocky Mount, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 6:00 pm.
