Charles Odes “Chuck” Jackson finished his time here on earth and went home to be with Jesus on Sunday evening, January 8, 2023, at the age of 90.

Charles' journey began on October 23, 1932, in Seabrook, Texas as the third child born to George and LuDena Nix Jackson. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brothers, David Jackson, George Jackson and Earl Jackson; sister, Sallie Whitley and great-granddaughter, Dolly Easter.

Charles was a successful career veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served his country honorably, including three tours in Korea as well as two tours in Vietnam. He was proud to be a part of an unbeatable force, united by an uncommon bond, fighting for purpose.

In addition to being a dedicated soldier, he was also a devoted family man who adored his loving wife of almost fifty-nine years, Jo Ann Bass Jackson.

He will also be greatly missed by his children, Robert “Bob” Brantley (Siobhan) of Panama City, Florida, William “Randy” Jackson (Helen) of Hertford, NC, Lisa Jackson Price (Braxton) of Elm City, NC and Mary Angela Hamm (Tim) of the home.

He was an especially proud Grandpa to five grandchildren: Christina M. Johnson (Ryan) of Kill Devil Hills, Juanita Daniels (Eric) of Elizabeth City, Candice Jackson of Fort Hood, Tx, Amanda Easter (Kenny) of Elm City, and Brittany Bunn (Dakota), also of Elm City; as well as seven great-grandchildren, with two more expected soon.

Please join family and friends to remember and celebrate this wonderful life at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 12, Calvary Pentecostal Church, 2606 Downing Street, SW, Wilson, NC 27893, officiated by Reverend Jim Speight. Interment with military honors will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday evening, January 11th, also at Calvary Pentecostal Church, and other times at the home.
