Charles "Kenny" Cook Obituary

Spring Hope -

Charles Kenneth “Kenny” Cook, age 64, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

He was born on August 22, 1957, to the late Charlie and Luna Cook.  He enjoyed playing a variety of sports in his younger years and graduated from Apex High School in Apex, NC.  He graduated from King’s College in Raleigh with an A.A.S. in Accounting, then went on to attend Campbell University, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration.  It was during his time at Campbell that he met his future wife of 39 years, Lynn Tyson Cook.

He worked as an accountant at several different companies throughout his career and was most recently employed by Weener Plastics in Wilson, NC.  He had a strong work ethic and brought a smile to everyone who knew him.

In addition to his loving wife of the residence, he is survived by his son, Brett Cook of Spring Hope, NC, his daughter, Holly Cousins, son-in-law Drew Cousins, and his favorite granddaughter, Briar Cousins of Danville, VA, and his faithful canine companion, Angel.  He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Glen Tyson, sister Mona Kelly, brother-in-law Doug Kelly, and a host of extended family.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 11:00AM, at Oakdale Cemetery, East Branch Street, Spring Hope, NC.  The family will receive friends at 10:30AM and following the service.

The family respectfully asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Ephesus Baptist Church, 7300 West Old Spring Hope Rd., Spring Hope, NC 27882.  All contributions will be used by NC Baptists on Mission Ukraine Relief.

Additionally, Kenny was fortunate to be the recipient of a liver transplant in 2017.  The family is pleased to announce that he will, in turn, provide several others with the life-saving gift of organ donation.  Please consider becoming an organ donor as it is the gift of life!
