Nashville –

Cynthia “Cindy” Ezzell Cockrell, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 18, 2025. She was born on December 18, 1946 in Nash County to Herman and Elise Smith Ezzell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Bottoms Brantley and husband, David D. Cockrell.

She leaves many special memories for her daughter, Robin Bottoms Threatt and husband, Danny of Rocky Mount; brother, Richard “Ricky” Ezzell of Nashville; beloved chihuahua, Toby; along with many extended relatives and friends.

“Mema” loved and adored her grandchildren, Joshua Brantley and wife, Lauren, Zackary Brantley, Daniel Threatt and wife, Rachel and Lizzie Threatt and great-grandchildren, Josie-Lynn Brantley, Vivian Threatt and Grayson-Lee Threatt.

A time of visitation will be from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at NorthSide Church, 1660 Beaver Pond Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 and other times at the home of Danny and Robin Threatt.
