Daisy Bowen Odom

Daisy Bowen Odom, age 93, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday, April 25, 2023. She was born on December 21, 1929 in Washington, North Carolina.

Daisy attended Shenandoah Baptist Church for many years and was a member of the YMCA for 27 years. She had a true servant’s heart and was much loved in her community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar J. Odom; father, William Henry Bowen; mother, Maggie Bowen Beecham; step-father, James Henry Beecham and brothers, Infant Bowen, John Henry Bowen, William Earl Bowen, Joseph Cotton Bowen and Lovie Bowen.  

Daisy leaves behind a lifetime of memories for her daughters, Shyrlyn Parker of Rocky Mount, Denise Sherlin (Nathan) of Cleveland, TN and Teena Eisenberg (Anthony Stuart) of Raleigh; grandchildren, Timothy Parker (Karen), Heather Winner (Jeremy), Hilarie Boone, Teena Guffey (Mark), Kylee Clukey (Kyle), Andrew Sherlin (Kaytlin), Brooke Eisenberg and Jacob Eisenberg; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and special friend, Leon Tyson.

A service will be held Monday, May 1, 2023 at 2:00PM at Shenandoah Baptist Church, 3894 Shenandoah Road Rocky Mount, NC 27803. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM.
