Dan M. Cooke, age 82, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021. He was born in Edgecombe County to Jimmie Lee and Alma Edwards Cooke on October 7, 1938. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred "Jack", Reggie and David Earl Cooke. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Peggy Cooke; children, Dan Milton Cooke, Jr. (Michele) of Virginia Beach, Va., Mark Anthony Cooke and Kimberly Douglas (Kenneth), both of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Jennifer Christie Krueger (Kevin), Joyce Cooke and Michael Ailstock; great-grandchildren, Katrina, Summerlyn and Autumn Krueger and Freya Vick; along with many friends and other extended relatives.

Dan was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying the beach where he loved to fish and drive his boat. When he wasn't fishing or boating, he could often be found riding his motorcycle in charity rides. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Forest Hills Cemetery in Nashville, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
