William Thomas “Denny” Parker, 67, passed away on June 24, 2021 while surrounded by his family.
He was born to Samuel Delk Parker and Evelyn Christine Bryant Green on May 8, 1954. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jenny Parker; son, Steven Parker; father-in-law, Robert Samuel Lawing II; and brother-in-law, Robert Samuel Lawing III.
Denny is survived by his daughter, Sandra Parker Lynch of Whitakers; grandchildren, Phillip John Lynch of Whitakers and Dylan Lee Gage Parker of Rocky Mount; mother-in-law, Dorothy Lawing; sisters-in-law, Dawn Lawing Johnson (Ricky) and Nancy Carter Lawing, all from Parkton, NC and a host of nieces and nephews.
Denny was a long-time employee of TexFi Industries until they closed and was a supervisor with the City of Rocky Mount. He was a faithful member of Arlington Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, youth leader, and in a host of other capacities. He enjoyed serving his church and spending time with family and friends.
A service to celebrate Denny’s life will be held Sunday, June 27, 2021, 2:00 PM, at Arlington Baptist Church, 1500 Bethlehem Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27803. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private entombment will be held at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
