Donald Irvin DeMuth

Donald DeMuth, age 69, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. His journey began in Edgecombe County on July 1, 1955. He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Taylor (Pete) and father, Irvin DeMuth.

He is survived by his son, Phillip DeMuth and wife, Amy of Raleigh; daughter, Belinda House of Nashville; significant other, Mary Thomas of Macclesfield; sisters, Carol Anne DeMuth of Tarboro, Vivian Jordan and husband, Leon and Francis Rackley and husband, Rick, all of Rocky Mount; former wife and best friend, Jackie Pridgen; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.

An avid outdoorsman, Donald loved nature and feeling the sun on his face. When he wasn’t outside, he could be found watching Gunsmoke and the Andy Griffith Show in his trusty recliner with a cup of coffee in his hand. He had a solid work ethic and a genuine concern for helping people that he instilled into his family. Donald will be remembered by his sense of humor and his infectious smile; he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
