Everett Clark Egan

Everett Egan, age 77, passed away peacefully at his home Friday morning, October 27, 2023. He was born on August 8, 1946 to Charles Everett and Nellie Pritchard Egan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Warren Egan and sister, Ellen Green.

He leaves a lifetime of cherished memories for his wife, Mary Ella Newton Egan; children, Nora Lee Egan Becker, Jennifer Jo Egan and Robert Neil Egan and wife, Tessa; brothers, Frankie Egan and Joe Egan; sisters, Etta Burch and Brenda Black. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, Cameron Lee Egan (Kacie), David Scott Egan-Becker, Ariana Grace Egan and Kody Lawrence Egan and great-grandchildren, Caylee Faye Egan and Klaire Addison Egan. 

Everett joined the United States Marine Corps out of high school in 1965 and served honorably until 1985, retiring with the rank of Gunnery SGT.  He later enjoyed a successful career with the City of Durham from 1985 until 2010, while also serving with the Corinth Volunteer Fire Department from 1988 until 2008. Everett was a proud veteran, dedicated to serving his community and fellow man. The one thing that gave him greater happiness and a deeper sense of pride was his beloved family. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Everett's life will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at  2:00 pm at First Fruits Farm, 2805 E River Road, Louisburg, NC 27549. Friends are invited to visit the family and enjoy light refreshments immediately following the service.
