Gabriel Allen Ashburn

Gabriel Allen "Gabe" Ashburn, infant son of Cody Allen Ashburn and Kelsie Simmons, fell asleep and awoke with Jesus Friday evening, October 30, 2020. He joined in Heaven his maternal grandmother, Sandra Stone Simmons; maternal great-grandfather, Roy Simmons; and paternal great-grandparents, Joel and Edie Turner.

Baby Gabe felt a lifetime's worth of love and adoration during his brief time with us. He was wanted and cherished and his sweet face was a daily reminder of the beauty of life. We will remember and miss him daily until we can hold him once again. In addition to his parents, Cody and Kelsie, he was deeply loved by his maternal grandfather, Brian Simmons (Cindy) of Nashville; maternal great grandparents, Patricia Robbins (Douglas) of Rocky Mount, and Elsie Stone (Kelton) of Roanoke Rapids; paternal grandparents, Dana Carter (Phil) and Royce Cobb, all of Rocky Mount; and godmother, Marie Register of Pinetops. Gabe was also a blessing in the lives of many aunts and uncles, Casea Simmons Bunn (Olsen), Cynthia Cox, Kailey Cobb (Josh), Jonathan Sanderson, Johanna Turner, Mariah Turner, Cheyenne Carter, Rocky Carter, Ayden, Carter, Abel Carter, and Steve Ashburn, along with a host of caring family friends and other extended relatives.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate and remember Gabe at a memorial service, 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Englewood Assembly of God, 2181 S. Halifax Rd., Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home of Dana and Phil Carter.
