Iris Dean Harrell, age 79, passed away November 5, 2020 in Martin County. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Exum M. "Ex" Harrell, Jr.; sister, Jeanette Thomas and grandson, Trent Allen Harrell.
She's leaving a lifetime of cherished memories for her sons, Exum M. “Chubby” Harrell, III (Christine) of Tarboro, Kirby J. Harrell (Amy) of Nashville, Christopher “Len” Harrell (Amy) of Macclesfield; daughters, Alexa Dean Varnadore (Tony) of Lawrence and Sharon Harrell Perkins (Frank) of Flowery Branch, GA; sister, Pat Williams (Dennis) of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Exum “Squeak” M. Harrell IV, Dustin “Jay” Harrell, Tyler Len Harrell, Darrin Lee Harrell, Allie Brianna Perkins and Carson Frank Perkins; great-grandchildren, Savannah Dail, Summer Harrell, Kennedy Harrell, Jax Harrell, Avery Harrell, Aiden Harrell, Madison Harrell, Ivy Grace Harrell, Julia Rose Harrell, and Dakota Harrell.
A service to celebrate and remember Iris Dean's life will be held at Northern Blvd Baptist Church, Tarboro, on Monday, November 9, 2020, at 11:00 AM, with burial following at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 6 PM – 8:00 PM, also at Northern Blvd Baptist Church, and other times at the home of Chubby and Christine Harrell.
