Jacob LiVecchi Obituary

Raleigh

Our beloved Jacob Grant LiVecchi “Jake” was born in Raleigh, NC on September 10, 2002. He passed away September 16, 2022.

Jake is survived by his parents, Brian P. LiVecchi, and Lauren B. Coker, step-parents, Jamie A. LiVecchi and David L. Coker, Jr.; siblings, Joshua Hugh Bryan LiVecchi, Michael J. LiVecchi, David R. L. Coker “Remy”, Lillian M. Coker, JD Akers, and Trinity Paige Akers; grandparents, Deborah Bryan, Marsha and Patrick LiVecchi, Hugh and Lynn Bryan, and Janice and David Coker Sr.; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jake graduated with the Class of 2021 from Fuquay-Varina High School where he was a proud member of and lettered in the Advanced Vocal Ensemble (AVE). He participated in the Disney Music Festival in 2020. During his 4 years in the Vocal Music Program, he performed two solo pieces and was a leader in the Men’s Chorus.

Jake was involved with scouting for most of his youth, first as a Cub Scout in Pack 320 and later as a Boy Scout in Troop 614 in Fuquay-Varina. He achieved the rank of Life and earned numerous other awards and merit badges, including induction into the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s honor society. He honed his leadership skills in roles of increasing responsibility throughout his time in scouting, from serving as an assistant patrol leader up to Troop Guide and Senior Patrol Leader, or the most senior boy leader in the Troop.  Jake received the extraordinary honor of being awarded the BSA Medal of Merit for heroism and bravery after rescuing his brother from drowning. Only roughly 6,000 Boy Scouts have been bestowed with the Medal of Merit since it was created in 1945, and only roughly 100 American Boy Scouts are recognized with this high honor each year. Jake was fond of water sports, diving and sailing as well as hunting and fishing.

Jake will be remembered by all who knew him as a good and trustworthy friend. He was always kind and generous and was especially loved by children because of his easy smile and affection for them. Jake knew Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was a source of pride to his family. Jake was known as a steadfast young man of courage and honor whose smile and laughter were one-of-a-kind.
