Janet (Pittman) Kea

Janet Pittman Kea, age 63, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, November 9, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Born in Nash County on December 31, 1959, she was the daughter of Clifton and Sadie Pittman, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Bruce Kea; sister, Brenda Spain and husband, Ronnie of Red Oak; brother, Dennis Pittman of Nashville; step-daughter, Holly Blythe and husband, Michael of Spring Hope; nieces, Christy Spain of Raleigh and Kim Haggerty and husband, Shepherd of Rocky Mount; nephew, Robert “Robbie” Spain and wife, Lynn of Dortches; great-niece, Sarah Spain of Raleigh, along with many adoring friends and other extended relatives.

Janet was a dedicated surgical technologist at Heritage Hospital for many years. Her love was palpable and her presence was a gift to anyone with the good fortune to know her. Despite facing health challenges throughout her life, she consistently maintained a positive perspective, always radiating kindness to those in her midst. 

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Janet. A steaming cup of Cafe Francais, powdered donuts and the warmth of a cozy fire with Bonanza playing in the background were among her favorites. Above all, Janet fiercely loved her sister, Brenda. Their inseparable bond throughout their lives was a connection unlike any other. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Please join family and friends for a special time to remember and celebrate Janet's life on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Tarboro Church of God, 906 W. St. James Street., Tarboro, NC. Visitation will start at 1:00 pm, followed by a Memorial Celebration at 2:00 pm.
