Jimmy Gray “Pa” Goff, age 79, passed away at his home Wednesday afternoon, September 14, 2022.

Jimmy was born in Martin County to Milton and Roland Marie Goff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Audrey Dare Goff; daughter, Audrey Dare Hathaway; sister, Mary Virginia Baker; brothers, Kenneth Earl Goff and Jerry Goff, Sr., sons-in-law, Johnny Lewis “Skipper” Thompson, Jr. and John Barnes; brother-in-law, Robert Pollard; four great-grandchildren, Kalel Xavier Barnes, Joshua Poole, Jaydon Gibson, and Tyrell Thurman Arrington.

He leaves a lifetime of cherished memories for his devoted family of eight daughters: Melissa Hope Goff, Tracy Lynn Jones (Thomas), and Charity Dawn Goff; Angela Diann Barnes, Mary Frances Rose (Tony), Janice Faye Thompson, Shirley Lynn Foreman (Donald), and Linda Lou Pittman. He also leaves brothers, Gene Goff (Marie), Milton Goff (Brenda), Mike Goff (Linda); sisters, Linda Proctor, Peggy Pollard, and Debbie Lewis; and sister-in-law, Ester Goff

Pa was especially proud of his twelve grandchildren: Jamie Lynn Turner, Sarah Jenine Godwin, John Christopher Barnes, Elisha Dare Chasse, Aimee Cassandra House, Dennis Michael Burk, Stacy Lynn Poole, Shelly Denise Rosenberry, Jennie Lou Hathaway, Johnny Lewis Thompson, III, Jason Gray Pittman, and Meagan Leigh Arrington.

He will also be greatly missed by his thirty-seven great-grandchildren: Benjamin Mark Turner, Hannah Claire Turner, Kelly Turner, Ethan Luke Barnes, Lydia Ruth Barnes, Chloe Catherine Barnes, Henry Christopher Barnes, Kenneth Robert Leonel Chasse, Jr., Ashley Nicole Holden, Nicholas Goldman Creech, Christopher Lee Chasse, Zachary Dale Chasse, Matthew Noah Chasse, Emilee Audrey Dare Chasse, Aubrey Chad House, Corbin Wyatt House, Anderson Michael Burk, Caleb Javien Davis, Mason Ray Poole, Katie Alyssa Poole, Christopher Poole, Chase Poole, Dylan Connor Rosenberry, Chloe Ann Cruz, Cameron Logan Hathaway, Mckenzie Lou Hathaway, Jackson Gray Pittman, Lilly Raye Pittman, Donnell Lorenzo Arrington, Aleighya Bae Arrington, Yanika Faith Marquette House, Jupiter Marley Renee Rose, Stella Gray Biddle, Raven Hazel Pittman, Ivy Lynne Thompson, and Johnny Lewis Thompson, IV; and ten great-great-grandchildren, Hailee Grace Chasse, Hannah Paige Chasse, Ayden Lee Poole, Chaslynn Faith Poole, Kensley Grace Poole, Carson Alexander Holden, Emersyn Claire Holden, Easton Cole Holden, Paislee Jones, and Kayleigh Jones.

Pa requested that family and friends gather to remember him with a graveside service at Edgecombe Memorial Park, Tarboro. Please join us at 10:00 am, Monday, September 19, 2022 to pay tribute to his wonderful life.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
