Joan Holland Cagle

Joan Holland Cagle 75, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, January 26, 2024.  Her life began in Wilson County, February 27, 1948, to John Willard and Mildred Gray Holland.  In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her nephew, Grant Waters.  

Joan is survived by her daughter, Denise Kirk of New Bern; sister, Jeanne Tant of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Steven Wise of New Bern and Amanda Dunion (Rob) of Buchanan, Georgia; great-grandchild, Ryan Dunion; nephew, Shane Waters (Ashlie) of Jacksonville, Florida; and her canine friend, Bella, who was always by her side.

Born with a true servant's heart, Joan was known for her selflessness and compassion for others, even once having given her shoes to a friend while at church. Her sweet spirit and kind nature will be deeply missed by friends and family alike.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Nash Streen, N, Wilson, NC 27896. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
