Judy Edmondson Devinney, age 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Ayden, North Carolina on February 17, 2026.

Judy was born in Tarboro, North Carolina, in Edgecombe County, to the late John Robert Edmondson and Helen Johnson Edmondson. She attended Crisp Elementary School and South Edgecombe High School, and later continued her education at Hardbarger Business College.

Judy dedicated 30 years of faithful service to the State of North Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation. She retired with pride in her work and the many years she devoted to the State of North Carolina.

Judy found great joy in attending antique auctions and estate sales, always appreciating the history and stories behind treasured items. She also devoted much of her time helping alongside her daughter in dog rescue, reflecting her deep compassion and love for animals. She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church.

She shared a special and cherished bond with her beloved great aunt, Edna Johnson, whose presence was an important part of her life.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, John Robert Edmondson and Helen Johnson Edmondson.

She is survived by her only child, her daughter, Jennifer Page Watson, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Judy will be remembered for her kind heart, her quiet strength, her dedication to helping others, and her enduring love for her family and animals.
