Laverne (Jones) Davis

Laverne J. Davis, age 82, passed away early Friday morning, January 3, 2025. She was born March 9, 1942 in Johnston County to Manley P. and Octiva J. Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Calvin Byrd and husband, Roland Davis.

She is survived by her loving family that includes her daughter, Denise Byrd Joyner and husband, Russell of Nashville; brother, Dewey Jones and wife, Linda of Selma; granddaughters, Nikie Spence of Spring Hope and Amy Knudsen and husband, Richard of Beaufort; and great-grandchildren, Kevin Smith, Jordan Willis, both of Spring Hope, and Kara and Colt Knudsen of Beaufort.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
