Leslie Reynolds Obituary

Rocky Mount -

Leslie Hollis “Tootsie” Reynolds, age 80, passed away in his home in the early hours of Friday morning, April 26th, 2024. He was surrounded by prayer, unwavering love and support of family and friends while he peacefully joined his Father God in Heaven.

Les was born and raised in Tarboro, NC on September 15th, 1943 as the youngest of seven children to Arthur and Mae Reynolds. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Reynolds, Allen Reynolds, William Reynolds, Raymond Reynolds, Lewis Reynolds, Lena Reynolds and Marie Reynolds; nieces, Susie Johnson and Darlene Kaufman and nephew, David Reynolds. Meeting him at the gates of Heaven also includes his son, Jason Arthur Reynolds.

Les leaves a lifetime of memories for his soulmate and wife of eleven years, Ann Troy Reynolds; step children, Madison Moore and Chase Enzor along with step grandson, Will Enzor. His little girl, Elizabeth Reynolds and grandsons, Preston Reynolds and Ethan Jones; his beloved nephews, Brian Reynolds (Teresa Brewer), Mike Reynolds and Glenn Reynolds.

He will also be greatly missed by many cousins, family members and community members.

Les joined the United States Army in the 70’s and served honorably during the Vietnam Era. During his service, he was a member of personnel services and communications and took on multiple other roles throughout the years. His love for communications and mechanics led him to a long career with Coeco, Abbott Laboratories and then later to opening his own company in Tarboro, Les Do It Computers. Les always wanted to own his own computer shop and in 1998 he opened his doors and the Tarboro community welcomed him with open arms. He quickly became the go to for all things computer related.

He loved spending an afternoon golfing with his wife Ann, watching the sun set in his backyard and bird watching from his trusty recliner in his living room. For him there was no better place than his home alongside his soulmate, Ann Reynolds.

Nothing gave him more pride than being surrounded by his family, telling stories of days long gone and fresh country air. He will be dearly missed by anyone who had the pleasure to meet him and love him.

A memorial service with military honors will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 2:00pm at Calvary Episcopal Church, 411 E Church Street, Tarboro, NC 27886. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in Clark Hall and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 1712 W Howard Avenue, Tarboro, NC 27886.

A HERO’S WELCOME

Time to come home dear brother
Your tour of duty through
You’ve given as much as anyone
Could be expected to do

Just a few steps further
The smoke will start to clear
Others here will guide you
You have no need of fear

You have not failed your brothers
You clearly gave it all
And through your selfless actions
Others will hear the call

So take your place of honor
Among those who have gone before
And know you will be remembered
For now and evermore

-Robert Longley
