Luther "Luke" Wells Proctor

Luther “Luke” Wells Proctor, age 80, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at his home in Macclesfield with his loving family by his side. His journey began in Nash County on October 7, 1944 to Elijah and Anna Jones Proctor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Proctor and siblings, Doris Chappell, Archie Proctor and Bobby Proctor.

He leaves a lifetime of memories for his wife of almost sixty-three years, Sue Ivey Proctor; daughter, Danielle Wooten and husband, Eric of Macclesfield; siblings, Linda Howlett of Columbia, NC and Jimmy Proctor of Pinetops; sisters-in-law, Sally Proctor, Barbara Hathaway, Bobbie Jean Hobgood, all of Tarboro and Linda Health and husband, Gerald of Bath, NC.

Luke was especially proud of and adored his grandchildren, Eric Jr., Zack, Blake and Anna.

A service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Eagles Baptist Church, 184 NC-124, Macclesfield, NC 27852. Interment will follow at the Hales-Abrams Family Cemetery in Macclesfield. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00pm.
