Lynda (Lewis) Smith

With her beloved family by her side, Lynda Lewis Smith finished her race here on earth and claimed her victory with her Lord and Savior, Thursday evening, January 30, 2025.

Lynda was born October 14, 1941 in Edgecombe County to Warren and Ida Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Dean Lee, Allene Lewis Braddy, Frances Weathersbee, and Ethel Bryant. She grew to become a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and dear friend. Fondly known as "Ma", she touched many lives and hearts through her steadfast devotion to faith and family. Her life was a treasured gift to her many friends and relatives and will be deeply missed.

She leaves a lifetime of cherished memories for her devoted husband of forty-seven years, Ronald G. Smith; children, Rena Pulley of Battleboro, Rhonda Gauthier (John) of Virginia, Joe Smith and Ronnie Smith, Jr., both of Battleboro, Lynn Morris (Tony) of Rocky Mount, Wanda Robbins (Dennis) of Castalia, and April Best (Dean) of Battleboro; brother, Charlie Lewis (Miriam) of Tarboro; along with many family friends and other extended relatives. Ma's family circle especially overflowed with love and pride for her eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Northern Blvd Baptist Church, 502 E. Northern Blvd, Tarboro, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am and other times at the home.
