Marie W. Worrell

Marie Williams Worrell, age 72, passed away Friday afternoon, May 2, 2025 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. She was born in Edgecombe County on February 25, 1953 to Stephen and Hazel Batchelor Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Christy Lee Worrell and sister, Mary Lillian Lynch. 

She leaves a loving family that includes her husband of fifty-two years, Robert Worrell; daughter, Tracey W. Bridgers and husband, Jimmy; grandchildren, Hannah M. Swinson, Trent Bridgers and Cody Bridgers, all of Kinston. She will also be missed by her brother, Frank Williams and wife, Patty of Morehead; niece, Ashley Williams (Marco); great-niece, Claudia Miranda; special cousins, Lizzie Riley, Faye Sauls and husband, Earl, and Cathy Joyner and husband, James, all of Rocky Mount; special friend, Susan Chapell and husband, Victor of Red Oak, along with her loving First Pentecostal Holiness Church family and many family friends and other extended relatives.

A service to celebrate and remember Marie's life will be held at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at NorthSide Church, 1660 Beaver Pond Rd., Rocky Mount, NC. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm.
