Matthew Parker Obituary

Greensboro -

Matthew Blayne Parker, 24, entered into Heaven on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 9:11 pm at Cone Health Hospital in Greensboro, NC. For the last 3 years, Matthew resided in Greensboro. Prior to that, he lived at home in Pinetops, NC with his parents, Thurman and Kelly Parker, his brothers Joshua Parker and Ian Parker, and his furry siblings, Macy and Gracie. Others left to cherish his memory are his Grandmother, Sue Outlaw of Tarboro, NC; his girlfriend, Raegan Baker of Greensboro, NC, her Chihuahua-Pomeranian, Bailey Rose, and his lizard, Sam. In addition, he is also survived by Lori and Bill O'Hara of Colorado; Robyn and Wayne Keech of Pinetown, NC; a special cousin, Kenny Parker of Pinetops, NC and a host of other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Matthew was born in Tarboro, NC on July 15, 1997 to Robyn and Thurman Parker. He attended Tarboro-Edgecombe Academy in Tarboro, NC from K4-1st grade and Community Christian School in Wilson, NC from 2nd-8th grade, Matthew transferred to Tarboro High School in Tarboro, NC where he graduated in 2015. He was a star soccer player throughout his high school years. His Senior year, he was named Conference Player of the Year and Regional Co-Player of the Year, and received the Coach's Award as well. Matthew tried to find his way through life after high school, not knowing what direction he wanted to take. He succeeded in obtaining a Certificate in Business and a Certificate in Auto Body from Edgecombe Community College before finding his interest in landscaping. He entered the Turf Management program at Wayne Community College and later transferred to Guilford Technical Community College where he continued with Turf Management studies. Matthew worked in landscaping and enjoyed seeing the efforts of transforming landscapes into beautiful scenes of nature. His hobbies included anything outdoors with nature, watching any and everything on YouTube, playing video games, fast cars, and eating mexican food every chance he could.
Matthew was preceded in death by his "Deddy", Thurman Parker; Grandparents, Warren "Buddy" Parker and Joyce Parker; Tom Outlaw and Doug House.

By God's grace and mercy, Matthew was a registered organ donor and was able to share the miracle of life by donating his organs to matched recipients. This was a blessing in the midst of a tragedy for our family and we are grateful for Carolina Donor Services (now known as HonorBridge) for all of their guidance, support and prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Matthew's memory to Howard Memorial Presbyterian Church Youth Fund 303 E St. James St. Tarboro, NC 27886 or HonorBridge (formerly Carolina Donor Services) at Honorbridge.org or by mail to: HonorBridge Attn.
