With her devoted family by her side, Melody Starr Godwin, age 56, passed away peacefully at her home Friday morning, August 18, 2023.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-five years, Danny Gregory Godwin; children, April Lynnsey Forrest (Nicholas) of Wentzville, MO and Samuel Gregory Godwin (Brandi Deans) of Sandy Cross; parents, Norman and Judy Joyner of Nashville; brother, Randy Joyner (Diane) of Grandy; grandchildren, Sylvia Rose Forrest and William Glover; mother and father-in-law, Dan and June Godwin; sister-in-law, Lynn Wilson (Cloyce); brother-in-law, Mark Godwin (Ginger), all of Wilson; maternal uncle and aunt, Donald and Helen Baker; paternal aunt and uncle, David and Becky Allen; along with several nieces, nephews, many family friends, and other extended relatives.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 10:00am at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Nash Street NW, Wilson, NC 27896. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
