Raymond "Butch" Fogleman, Jr Obituary

Rocky Mount -

Raymond “Butch” Lee Fogleman, Jr. went home to his Heavenly eternal resting place on April 18, 2022 surrounded by the love of his family.

Raymond “Butch” was a great man! He was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He was also a proud veteran, having served honorably in the United States Navy as a torpedoman aboard the USS Douglas H. Fox.

In 1967, he returned home and attended a dance and celebration for the soldiers’ return. At this dance, he met the love of his life, Linda J. Randall and on October 21, 1968 they were married and started their long, loving life together. They began building their family and life and spent 54 years together. He worked days, nights, and long hours to provide for his family. He devoted 30 years to North Carolina Natural Gas Company where he held many job titles. He was a well-respected, hard-working man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Lee and Clara Summers Fogleman, along with several other family members and friends. Oh, what a glorious homecoming he is having!

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Randall Fogleman of the home; children, Amy Fogleman Little (James), Jeff Fogleman (Janelle), all of Battleboro, Crystal Fogleman Burnette of Rocky Mount, and Brian Fogleman of Fayetteville; five grandchildren which were his world, Christopher Little, Jacob Fogleman, Nicholas Burnette, all of Rocky Mount, Jenna Claire Fogleman and Tyler Fogleman and fiancée, Kaitlin Crusenberry, all of Battleboro; sister, Sheila Wammack (Gary) of Forest City; brothers, Michael Fogleman and Ricky Fogleman (Norman), all of Cedar Pointe; his longest, closest friend, Jerry Knight, Sr. of Fayetteville and several nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, and family friends.

A special note of appreciation is extended to the nursing staff at Nash UNC Health Care for their exceptional care and his team of doctors that have cared for him these last few years. We truly appreciate you all.

The family will host a service to celebrate Raymond’s life on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 12:00PM at Avalon Baptist Church, 3225 Old Battleboro Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27801 with Joe Price officiating.
