Robert Stallings Reason

In a moment completely unexpected by his family, but divined by his Lord and Savior, Robert Stallings Reason went Home during the early morning hours Saturday, January 30, 2021 at age 79 years. Robert's journey began in Edgecombe County as a son born July 22, 1941 to James B. and Emma S. Reason. He grew up in Edgecombe County and was proud to serve in the Army National Guard. He married his love, June Webb, on January 21, 1966 at Eagles Baptist Church and remained her devoted husband and sidekick for fifty-five years. In 2008, following a forty year career that began at Formica and ended as International Papers, Robert was able to enjoy his retirement years spending time with his family, church, and friends. His was a kind and gentle soul that brought a special sweetness into the lives of those who knew and loved him. While we are reassured of his place with Jesus, we will deeply miss him until that day we see his smile again.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, James Button Reason, Jr., Fred Reason, and Hugh Reason; and his sisters, Clyde Herman, Emily Shelton Webb, Maxine Reason, and Dora Mae Sullivan.

He's leaving a lifetime of treasured memories for his beloved wife of 55 years, June Webb Reason; his children, Regina Reason Gonzalez (Arron Thomas) and Bobbi Gayle Reason, both of Pinetops; grandchildren, Stephen Gonzalez of Greenville and Matthew Reason of Pinetops; and his sister, Beth Fowler (Harry) of Rocky Mount. He will also be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, his Eagles Baptist Church family, as well as a host of family friends and caring neighbors.

Robert's life will be remembered with a special service at 2 P.M., Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Eagles Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
