Robert Rivenbark Obituary

Nashville -

Robert Earl "Bobby" Rivenbark, age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. His journey began on January 31, 1940 in Nash County, North Carolina, son of Walter Bernice Rivenbark and Lessie Mae Joyner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy and Buddy Rivenbark and sister, Ruby Rivenbark Rackley.

He is survived by his children, Debra Rivenbark Vester and husband, Lee of Cedar Point and Robby Rivenbark of Rocky Mount; sister, Lois Coley and husband, Doug of Nashville and numerous nieces and nephews. Bobby was an especially proud pa-pa to Jayson Vester (Ashlea), Joshua Vester (Amber) and Zachary Rivenbark and G pa-pa to Avery and Jude Vester.

Bobby was a good daddy, brother, pa-pa and G pa-pa and cherished his family and the time he spent with them. He also dearly loved his canine companions, Lucy and Tripp. He could easily be warmed over by a good home-cooked meal from his sister or eating at good breakfast places with his sister and brother-in-law. After savoring his delicious meals, he could often be found watching movies or more often, taking a nap. He thought the world of his son-in-law and was determined that he could fix anything. Bobby's memory will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the employees of the the dialysis centers in both Rocky Mount on 301 and in Spring Hope for the delicate care they provided Bobby.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice, c/o Vidant Heath Foundation, 690 Medical Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
