Robert "Bobby" Webb, Jr. Obituary

Pinetops -

In a moment completely unexpected by us but divined by our Savior, our beloved husband, deddy, Papa, brother, and dear friend finished his time here on earth Friday morning, April 2, 2021. Life's journey for Bobby Webb, Jr. began in Edgecombe County, NC on February 12, 1952 as the only son born to Robert Lee and Margaret W. Webb. He was raised with sisters, Robin, Carolyn, and Tiffany and loved them dearly. He proudly served our country honorably in the North Carolina National Guard. He later married his love, Mary Ann Garris on February 14, 1976 and remained her life's partner for forty-five years. He made many lasting friendships throughout his successful career in farm chemical sales with Tri-Fertilizer and later, Parkway Ag.

Bobby has been a much loved friend and neighbor in his community for many years. He enjoyed being a Mason and a Shriner and was devoted to their many worthy causes. There was no challenge too great and he could always be counted on to help in any endeavor. Everyone knew he would be ready to fire up a grill and dish out his famously delicious cole slaw at a moment's notice and for any need that arose. Those who knew him will agree that he was much more than a friendly face and helpful hand...he set the bar of simple goodness that many of us strove to follow, but often fell short. He led by example with few words but great character and integrity. Above all else, loving and caring for his family was the very root of his existence and his heartfelt purpose in life. He loved them with a passion and devotion that was easily felt and seen in their daily lives, no matter the circumstances.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Webb. He would do anything for his "Deddy's girls", Lynn Alaway (Jack) of Middlesex, Patricia Jackson of Rocky Mount, and Erin Johnson (Jared Heffinger) of Pinetops. He was an especially proud Papa to Michael Mace (Ashley) of Rocky Mount, Kayla Jackson of Wilson, Lynsey Jackson of Rocky Mount, and Britton Johnson of Pinetops; and great-grandchildren, Aubrey White and Evelyn Ann Mace. He will also be deeply missed by sisters, Robin Edwards (Wayne) of Macclesfield and Tiffany Rose of Pinetops, along with many nieces, nephews, countless friends and neighbors, and other extended relatives.

Please join family and friends for a special time to celebrate and remember Bobby's wonderful life: 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 5, 2021 at Pineview Cemetery, Pinetops with Reverend Don Causey officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service and other times at the home.

Those wishing to honor Bobby's memory with a memorial donation are asked to consider the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, South Carolina, 29605.
