Rosa Cole Obituary

RALEIGH –

In that single bittersweet moment for which we could never be fully prepared, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend finished her work here on earth and was called Home to be with Jesus.

Rosa Bolling Cole was born with a servant's heart on August 4, 1928 in Wake County, NC to Judson and Addie Smith Johnson. She grew up learning the value of hard work and a giving nature. She loved her family and instilled in them the strength, integrity and faith that would guide them through the various ups and downs throughout their lives. Many sweet memories of Grandma Rose will serve as our sources of laughter, tears, and quiet, pleasant moments of reminiscing for years to come. She was our rock and our foundation, our teacher and our encourager, and the very essence of our hearts. She loved her Jesus and was ready to see His face and worship Him forever. Grandma Rose was 92 years old when she passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday morning, October 13th, 2020. She took part of our hearts with her.

Grandma Rose is survived by her children, Linda Davis of Raleigh, Sue Avery of Nashville, and Sky Bolling, of Raleigh; sister, Louise Mack of Apex; and a special niece who checked on her daily, Ruby Barham. She was especially proud of her grandchildren, Tammy Jarman, Renea Helms, Grace Lucas, James A. Bolling, II, River Bolling, Charlie Honeycutt, and Michael Bolling; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by a host of family friends and other extended relatives.

Please join family and friends to remember and celebrate Grandma Rose’s life at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17th. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
