Samuel Taylor Cruz

Samuel Taylor Cruz, age 30, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 4, 2025. He was born on October 14, 1994 and was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Ann Para. 

He leaves special memories for his children, Chloe, Dawson and Addison; adoptive parents, Spencer and Dina Leonard of Tarboro; siblings, Tony Mendoza (Amanda) of Tarboro, Ashley Sewell (Jeff) of Winterville, Kurt Nichols (Katie) of Sharpsburg and Trey Leonard of Tarboro along with many beloved nieces and nephews. 

Taylor attended Southwest High School and later developed a skill of masonry and became a respected craftsman. Known as a "dare devil", Taylor spent a lot of time riding dirt bikes and four wheelers. He was always fun to be around, never met a stranger and the first thing people would notice about him was his beautiful smile. Along with that smile came a huge heart and loved his family dearly. As times of struggle entered his life, we could rest assured that the love for his family did not change. Although taken too soon, we will all carry the memories we have of him in our hearts and his presence will be truly missed by his family and friends.

A private memorial to celebrate Taylor's life will be held at a later date.
