Suzanne Maria (Carter) Harris

Tarboro - In that moment for which we could never prepare, our beloved wife, mother, sister and dear friend finished her time here on earth and went home to be with Jesus. Suzanne's journey began in Petersburg, Virginia on October 7th, 1977 as the only daughter born to John J. and Peggie Wolfer Carter.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Robert and Thelma Strickland, and maternal grandparents, Sylvester "Sparky" and Tilly Wolfer. 

Suzanne made many friends throughout her travels during her forty-two years. She loved her family and friends and treasured special times spent together. She drank up life like it was a never ending fountain of youth. She was fun to be with and made good times even better with her beautiful smile, bubbly spirit and funny laugh. We could always count on her to keep things real because because she was so down to earth and sweet. Becoming mother to Alayna and Devin were probably some of the happiest moments in her life. She adored them completely and was so proud of the compassion and strength and kindness in each of them.

Suzanne has left a wake of laughter, tears, and treasured memories for so many who knew and loved her. She leaves her loving husband, Jason Harris; her beloved children, Alayna and Devin Harris of the home; brothers, John "Scoot" J. Carter, Jr. and Robert "Bob" Carter, both of Greenville; mother and father-in-law, Joe and Janice Harris; sister-in-law, Racheal Knight (Henry), all of Tarboro; and her devoted friend, Bridgette Harris (Billy) of Rocky Mount. She will also be missed by countless friends, co-workers, and other extended relatives.

Please join family and friends as we gather together to remember and celebrate the wonderful life of Suzanne Maria Harris at Word of Life International Church, 3388 McNair Rd., Tarboro on Sunday, August 30, 2020:  Visitation will start at 2:30 pm, followed a Celebration of Life Memorial at 3:30 pm.
